The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Analytics, this position's primary responsibilities will include leading the valuations and performance analysis for consumer auto originations strategy. This individual will be leading a team focused on developing the strategy and capability for optimizing origination strategy to maximize value and manage credit risk. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering results, must be an innovative and strategic thinker, willing to challenge status quo, can learn quickly, is self-motivated and detail oriented. The position will lead a team and work with key leaders within the Customer Operations organization, as well as partner groups such as finance, compliance, legal, risk and technology.
The Work Itself

- Own the roadmap for their area of the Ally Auto Strategy and Analytics, and prioritize initiatives working with key stakeholders.
- Lead a team focused on improving portfolio performance and originations through advanced analytics of loan performance and operational enhancements.
- Manage priorities using sound control processes (daily/weekly/monthly) to effectively identify, assess and manage risk.
- Collaboratively work with matrix & vendor partners to ensure alignment with Ally’s strategic imperatives.
- Influence the roadmap and priorities of other partner groups by proactive engagement on topics related to customer solutions strategy.
The Skills You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics or a similar discipline with quantitative focus, master’s degree preferred.
- Significant experience (5+ years) and knowledge of consumer financing industry (e.g. auto, card, mortgage etc.)
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role focused on data/statistical analysis, ideally experienced in treatment strategies with a champion/challenger (test/control) framework.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of data mining and classification techniques, minimum 4 years of experience using SAS/SQL or similar tools for data analysis and portfolio segmentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present proposals and vision to executive leadership.
- Experience working with (and ability to influence) matrix partners that impact change capability, such as IT, Compliance, Legal, Vendor Management and Operations.
- Candidate should possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; should be a critical thinker with strong attention to details.
- Knowledge of statistics and quantitative models preferred.
- Experience in automotive servicing industry preferred.
