The Opportunity

Candidate must reside in Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota, within one hour of a major airport, willing and able to travel approximately 70-80% of the time to support the territory. This position requires flexibility in work schedule, including evening hours and some weekends.

The Work Itself

  • You’ll develop sales plans to create leads and sell finance and insurance product lines while effectively managing resources to maximize return on expenditures.  Your ultimate goal is to have fun, be positive and go where the opportunities are!
  • You’ll be going up against “type A” personalities.  You’ll need to get past gatekeepers to get in front of dealer principals. 
  • You’ll be solving problems in a variety of environments and influencing stakeholders directly and indirectly.
  • You’re a leader, but not a manager.  You love making a big splash and seeing others follow your lead.
  • You’ll develop new customers by identifying possibilities for product improvements and new products by following industry and market trends, and competitors.
  • At Ally, you can't be successful on your own. You’ll have a team behind you and matrix partners working for you.  You’ll work collaboratively with Ally Insurance's account teams and all other Ally field personnel in identifying new customers, new business and strategically managing the sales opportunity pipeline. 
  • You’ll successfully handoff closed accounts to the Account Executive for servicing and income development activities.
  • You’ll remain active in the industry and in respective area and trade associations.

The Skills You Bring

  • Strong ability to develop business relationships with decision makers with proven success in sales.
  • The ability to write to influence and persuade—you’re creative and love solving problems.
  • The ability to control a conversation with a perceived level of authority and expertise—you exude confidence without arrogance.
  • Well-developed business management, presentation and relationship selling skills
  • HS diploma or equivalent required.  Industry designations don’t hurt.
