The Ally Internship Program guides and mentors students with development opportunities and experiences that support your career interests while also driving the business forward. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with diverse teams and functions across the company. You will interact with Ally’s leadership and learn from their personal successes. You will gain the experience to know what it means to be an Ally!
As part of our Internship Program, you will have an opportunity to:
- Have hands on experience and project-based work
- Attend Orientation, Executive Speaking Series, and learning sessions as an Intern cohort
- Participate in Mentoring Program and Giving Back Events
- Network with your peers, your team, and those Allys you find interesting
- Lead an end of assignment presentation
The Details:
- Internship Program Timing: May 26 – August 7, 2026
- 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days
- Project-based work
- Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify
- Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.
The Work Itself
Throughout the duration of the 11-week program, you'll have the ability to hone your skills in negotiation, problem-solving, data analysis, influencing and communication to name a few. Typically, interns are matched with a specific team and manager in mid-spring. Doing so offers the ability to assign program participants to real-time, business critical needs. You could be on teams such as…
- Sourcing – Partnering with lines of business across the Ally enterprise to create sourcing strategies to support the needs of the business. This can include conducting RFP’s, RFI’s, sole source negotiations amongst others. Performs industry analysis and benchmarking to formulate category strategies.
- Contracting – Creates, negotiates, and manages contracts for third parties. Leverages best practices to mitigate and identify residual contract risk while engaging risk partners and legal team for review.
- Risk & Controls –Evaluates Third Party risks, policies, and procedures against Ally requirements to advise and lead sourcing representatives to the best contractual obligations.
- Supply Chain Operations – Manages internal and external audit requests, while establishing effective controls framework for Supply Chain. Responsible for Supply Chain Data Governance program to ensure effective compliance to Policies and Procedures.
- Payment Services –Supports supply chain operations by processing invoices, reconcile purchase orders, and oversee payments made to suppliers.
- Purchasing – Oversees purchase requisitions while managing the use of alternate buying channels.
- Supplier Diversity – Encourages the use of diverse and sustainable suppliers into Ally’s Supply Chain strategy.
- Reporting & Analytics – Create dashboards for members of Supply Chain and Business Lines to utilize and leverage in their day-to-day roles. To collaborate with other top technology professionals across the organization to develop processes to optimize functionality across the organization.
The Skills You Bring
Required qualifications.
- Rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates analytical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Available for the full duration of the internship program.
- Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future.
Preferred qualifications.
- Majoring in supply chain, logistics, or operations is preferred.
- Previous supply chain internship experience or relevant project work is preferred.
- Extracurricular activities/leadership experience is preferred (student organizations, volunteering, sports, part-time roles, etc.)
