The Opportunity

The Senior Consumer Insights Analyst works with the Research Manager to manage projects related to consumer and customer research at Ally. 

The research analyst will support management of projects to understand and uncover trends among consumers and customers that impact their daily lives, their financial well-being, and their experience with Ally.

The senior analyst will play a critical role in providing impactful, actionable research and insights and support research across all lines of business at Ally.  The role will also support the management of research projects through efficient and streamlined processes for fielding research and analyzing data. 

The Work Itself

  • Understand and interpret trends in consumer and customer research as they relate to business goals and priorities and inform our work
  • Implement and support processes that support rigorous methods of research to ensure accuracy and validity
  • Ensure efficient collection and management of data to drive timely, relevant, and actionable analysis and insights on consumer and customer trends
  • Manage the fielding and collection of data for custom research projects to build understanding around consumer and customer trends, including but not limited to the following:
  • Program surveys using variety of online tools
  • Collect, clean, format, and prep data for analysis
  • Conduct analysis and create visuals (tables, charts, graphs) of data from internal and third-party sources to highlight trends in the data and to address research objectives and questions outlined in the Project Brief and the Insights Plan
  • Support the management of a variety of research projects across different stages of the lifecycle

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, social sciences, or related field
  • 3+ years of market research experience in a business to consumer setting, financial services experience is a plus
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience in data management and analysis, including PowerBI
  • Experience using a variety of research tools and platforms for research, survey programming, data collection and analysis
  • Flexible & adaptable to changing needs
  • Strong skills in managing and analyzing data
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Curious and collaborative nature
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
