The Opportunity

  • Ally Insurance is a subsidiary of Ally Financial and is a leading global provider of automobile-related insurance and reinsurance products for automobile dealers and their customers.

    Ally Insurance works with automotive dealers and their customers to provide solutions through our portfolio of products. We market vehicle service contracts such as the industry-leading Ally Premier Protection plan as well as vehicle maintenance contracts. Ally Insurance also services the insurance needs of our dealers' businesses by offering dealer inventory insurance, as well as liability and property protection.

    This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to apply quantitative and qualitative risk management techniques to an insurance business that is a subsidiary of a large financial institution. It is the purpose of the Ally Insurance Risk Management organization, to establish and maintain effective controls and tools for the management of risk that may impact, among other things, earnings, capital adequacy, liquidity, and reputation. To identify, measure, and manage these and other risks, Risk Management strives to implement effective internal controls, provide timely and reliable management information, and develop processes and metrics to monitor exposures.

The Work Itself

·        Risk Frameworks: Lead in the build out and Management of the following Risk Management Frameworks:

o   Model Risk Management

o   Governance Document Management

o   Dealer Monitoring Framework

o   Conduct & Reputation Risk

o   Payments Governance Framework

·        Risk Measurement: Utilize and contribute to improving risk indicators that are used to monitor and report risk exposures in the business. Be able to understand risk limit, KPI, KRI and implement the metrics accordingly.

·        Risk Monitoring: Prepare material for quarterly leadership committee and board meetings, including organizing and compiling agenda materials, taking meeting minutes and tracking any action items that may arise.

·        Risk Reporting:

o   Research, analyze and summarize information from various sources in a cohesive manor to support decision-making for management.

o   Manage multiple processes under stringent deadlines to consolidate management reporting.

o   Support the business in responding to requests from Internal Audit and Regulators.


·        Strong knowledge of statistical software – SAS preferred

·        Results Oriented

·        Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills

·        Continuous self-development

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or statistics preferred
  • Pursuing or completed insurance and/or risk management related designation preferred
  • 3-5 years of related experience
