The Opportunity

Are you intellectually curious? Can you tell compelling stories with data? Are you passionate about process improvement? Ally is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Advanced Business Analytics to join our Process Mining & Optimization COE Team. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working as a consultant, data engineer, and quantitative researcher. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in continuous process improvement, data-driven opportunity discovery, and influencing positive change.

This team member is responsible for data and process analysis projects to support the goals and objectives of the Ally Process Mining & Optimization COE team. They drive the work to define and recommend measurements, strategies, and reporting using data to support valuable business decisions. Work closely with the Process Mining & Optimization COE leadership, Business Partners, IT, and other stakeholders on opportunity discovery and solution delivery for a variety of process optimization projects. Opportunity discovery will involve data and event log identification, establishing data connections, and performing analysis. Solution delivery will involve data-centric processes where data structure redesign and automation can yield process efficiency benefits for our stakeholder customers.

The Work Itself

  • Answer people questions with data.
  • Individual contributor responsible for leading the creation of new analysis to progress the business and Ally's Process Optimization strategies.
  • Emphasis on business partnership by consulting with Process Owners and Process Optimization leaders to measurably improve processes using data analytics, process mining, and other system tools and technologies.
  • Development and maintenance of new technology capabilities.
  • Partner with Ally’s Robotic Process Optimization Center of Excellence to enable automation of key business processes, while ensuring positive return-on-investment measurable improvements in process speed and accuracy.
  • Develop and support efforts to quantify the impact of the Process Optimization program efforts.
  • Provide data modeling and structure guidance and hands-on support to generate positive value for process owners with heavy reliance on data.
  • Develop data connections and extractions using SOAP, REST, SQL, FTP and others.
  • Develop workflows using component base programming.
  • Perform feasibility assessments.
  • Convert user requirements to actionable activities.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or other quantitative fields.
  • 3+ years of reporting and analytics experience
  • 3+ years' experience with identification, cleansing, preparation & transformation of data.
  • Proficient in SQL, SOAP, REST, Python, Power BI (or Tableau), Power Automate, JSON, XML, Process Mining concepts and software
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong Data modeling
  • Data visualization and storytelling
  • Experience with mid-to-large scale systems implementations
  • 3+ years' experience with project management in a systems context
  • Ability to prioritize workload and balance multiple initiatives and efforts
  • Ability to respond quickly to a changing environment
  • Strong communication and change management skills required
  • Strong relationship management and consulting skills

  • Starting Pay: The starting pay for this role is $90,700 per year. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual bonus program with a target of 7% of annual base pay, based on individual and corporate performance. This is the starting pay for this role. Actual offers to be negotiated based on applicant's qualifications and experience.
