The Opportunity

Knowledge is power! We are looking for an individual with a strong background and interest in building successful skill development structures and processes to help our operational employees advance their skills, knowledge, and improve performance.

The Specialist – Business Line L&D is responsible for facilitating training and managing training projects of varying scope and complexity. Join a highly collaborative training team environment; showcase your experience, facilitation skills, organization/project management skills. 

The Work Itself

  • Manage and execute learning strategies in alignment with business objectives that drive results; ability to identify links between key business issues and assigned learning projects. May perform instructional design and/or program management work as needed.
  • Deliver engaging classroom and virtual training courses that positively impact the learner by enhancing their skills, knowledge, and business performance.
  • Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with Insurance Operations teams, support partners, enterprise Learning & Development teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate working sessions with business-line and cross-functional matrix partners to plan and execute strategic training initiatives.
  • Support or lead projects of varying size and scale in support of operational learning needs.  Ensure training or project delivery is in accordance with requirements and timelines.
  • Evaluate individual and organizational development needs.
  • Develop and deliver training courses and programs aimed at skill development based on current business needs, being mindful of cost/benefit of learning approach.
  • Evaluate course efficiency through end of course evaluations, participant comprehension, and operational metrics, making vital content revisions.
  • Create and present new and innovative learning initiatives and solutions to address business learning requirements.
  • Manage and support awareness and training efforts for various Ally business-line teams.
  • Engage and fully support Ally's LEAD Core Values, culture of Diversity and Inclusion and employee engagement.

The Skills You Bring

  • College degree specializing in Learning and Development, or related field of study preferred.
  • Ability to lead and run new Learning & Development focused projects from needs analysis to post-delivery evaluation.
  • Distance learning/virtual teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple initiatives, apply analytical skills, and think creatively.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • 2-3 years industry experience in Customer Service or Learning & Development is preferred.
  • Automotive mechanical knowledge is desirable.
  • Understanding of operational policies, procedures, and specific job functions at the local level.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft suite is required.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across the organization with varying levels of leadership.
