Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. As part of the Ally Tech Labs team, the Software Engineer explores and experiments with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) frameworks like LangChain. The Senior Software Engineer develops proofs-of-concept and prototypes to assess the potential of these emerging technologies.
 
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of innovative marketing software solutions and enhancements. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. They will code and debug new features and functionalities to improve user experience and drive customer engagement.
 
The Senior Software Engineer stays up-to-date with industry trends and attends relevant conferences / meetups to identify opportunities for leveraging AI capabilities. They ensure software quality through rigorous testing, debugging processes, and adherence to the best practices in AI development and deployment.

The Work Itself

  • Collaborates with other developers and provides significant contributions to develop specifications to resolve business client questions, problems, and to address enhancement needs.
  • Uses technical knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems.
  • Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction.
  • Interacts directly with business clients.
  • Serves as a mentor to lower level developers.

The Skills You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support.
  • Experience writing and reviewing software design specifications in an object oriented development environment.
  • Experience with Terraform and AWS
  • Strong knowledge of technologies used within aligned function to engineer solutions. Examples include but are not limited to React/Next.js, Python, TypeScript, AWS, Terraform.
  • Familiarity with AI / GenAI technologies, preferred
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) frameworks similar to LangChain, LangGraph. 
  • Understand or be excited to learn about Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agentic AI.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT
  • Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding each project.
  • Ability to respond directly to questions from business clients.
  • Ability to be a technical authority and work with other team members.
  • Knowledge of standard change management tools and processes.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Advanced hands on knowledge and experience.

Base Pay Range: $85000 - $150000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
