The Opportunity

  • This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to apply financial risk management principles to an insurance business that is a subsidiary of a large financial institution. It is the purpose of the Ally Insurance Business Line Risk Management organization, to establish and maintain effective controls and tools for managing financial and non-financial risks of the business. 

The Work Itself

  • Enhance and manage the following Risk Management Frameworks:

    ·       Risk and Control Self-Assessment

    ·       Business Continuity

    ·       Issues Management

    ·       Operational Risk Management

    ·       Insurance Risk

    ·       Enterprise Risk Management

    ·       Extract, clean, and structure raw data to analyze and report the results.

    ·       Perform deep-dive analysis while determining/detecting key data correlations and trends

    ·       Addressing ad-hoc requests to produce actionable business insights and reports when requested 

    ·       Preparing material for quarterly leadership committee and board meetings

    ·       Supporting the business in responding to Internal Auditors and Regulators

The Skills You Bring

  • Qualifications

    ·       3-5 years of related Risk Management experience

    ·       University Degree – Statistics, Sciences, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 

    ·       Pursuing or completed their CFA, FRM, or CPCU designation preferred

    ·       Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SAS

    ·       Experience with data visualization tools such PowerBi preferred

    ·       Must be self-motivated, willing to take on the initiative, and capable of working independently. 

    ·       Strong analytical, documentation and organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to details

    ·       Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams

    ·       Ability to communicate to executive leadership and adjust to changing priorities
