Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

Senior Quant Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining Balance Sheet Management (BSM) team's analytical tool, Quantitative Risk Management (QRM), to accomplish all the required tasks list below. Using statistical analysis and/or data mining techniques to perform analysis, develop financial models, and create reports that help Treasury Balance Sheet Management team manage Net Interest Income (NII) forecast, Interest Rate Risk (IRR) and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) processes.

The Work Itself

  • Develop and maintaining Ally Treasury Balance Sheet Management (BSM) team's analytical tool, Quantitative Risk Management (QRM), to accomplish all the required tasks list below.
  • Using statistical analysis and/or data mining techniques to perform data analysis, develop financial models and create report that help Treasury Balance Sheet Management team managing Net Interest Income (NII) forecast, Interest Rate Risk (IRR) and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) processes.
  • Primary responsibility includes working with BSM forecast and risk teams to improve forecast and modeling accuracy within QRM.  In addition, supporting FTP team to drive enhancements to current FTP forecast process within QRM.
  • Ability to perform benchmark tests on model performances that are used in Ally Financial balance sheet management system such as asset prepayment, default/loss, deposit pricing and runoff model, as well as other financial models within QRM framework.
  • Ability to pull large data set from enterprise data bases and analyze data for model development, ad-hoc analysis, and monthly reporting.
  • Creatively using various types of tools to develop solution sets for balance sheet related tasks and scenarios.
  • Improve modeling process within QRM framework.  This includes, but not limit to, implementing models into QRM and establishing best practice modeling setup within QRM framework.
  • Perform QRM EVE benchmark and NII forecast backtesting exercise to improve modeling efficiency and accuracy.
  • Create strong partnerships with important constituencies such as business segment leadership, treasury personnel, accounting personnel and enterprise risk management personnel.

The Skills You Bring

  • Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business four-year undergraduate degree required
  • 3+ years’ work experience within a bank’s Treasury or Finance department.
  • Strong coding and programming experience is required.
  • programming experience and proficiency with one of the follow: Python/R/SAS
  • Experience with QRM framework is desired.
  • Strong SQL background (SQL Server/Snowflake)
  • Knowledge of financial products and balance sheet management is a plus.
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet pre-established deadlines.
  • Ability to work across teams to achieve a common goal.

Base Pay Range: $85000 - $150000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
