The Opportunity
The Sr Director - Business Intel role will be responsible for the strategic analytics function for the Ally Insurance business. We are looking for a dynamic senior leader with excellent communication skills who has demonstrated the ability to think strategically with strong logic and problem-solving skills as well as create, implement and manage large data sets by utilizing technology to help the business make informed decisions.
The Work Itself
- Map out, build, and maintain analytics data to support various reporting and analysis
- Responsible for oversight of data and analysis projects to support business priorities
- Act as a liaison between business partners and internal team to translate business need into executable requirements
- Build a roadmap for Insurance’s data strategy including transition of data to the cloud, advance data management practices and build consistency and standardization across reporting
- Design and build dashboards and data solutions
- Oversee data platforms on a daily basis, ensuring proper functionality and accuracy of data
- Ability to work with large and or complex data sets
- Manage workflow and resource planning for analytics team
The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of modeling/analytics experience is required.
- Management experience required.
- Background in technology, business analytics, governance and intelligence with strong logic and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple areas of the business and subject matter expertise in understanding how the business operates and the data sets needed to make informed business decisions.
- Focus on attention to detail, proactive approach to problem-solving, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to identify, implement, manage and resolve critical issues under pressure.
- Possesses superior client relationship skills.
- Strong analytical, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and balance multiple initiatives and efforts.
- Ability to respond quickly to a changing environment.
