As a Senior Data and Reporting Analyst, you will play a critical role in collecting, analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to provide actionable insights that drive business strategies and operational improvements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, develop analytical solutions, and communicate findings effectively. 


The Work Itself

  • 50% of the role will be dedicated to ongoing data management, identification, and migration of systems data to the Ally enterprise data warehouse. This will include:
    • Identifying data elements and tables within enterprise systems to be migrated
    • Collaboration with data analytics organization to migrate identified data to the data warehouse.
    • For existing data in the warehouse: 
      • Perform data profiling and evaluation
      • Establish and maintain data quality rules
      • Monitor data quality rule breaks
      • Report data defects through data governance process; monitor and manage data defects to closure
      • Perform root cause analysis on data quality defects
      • Manage data and domain in the data catalog
      • Identify data elements by schema, consumption critical inventories
      • Support data lineage efforts and contribute to data sourcing decisions
      • Build published views in collaboration with teams requesting access to data elements
  • 50% of the role will be dedicated to Monthly Reporting:
    • Weekly follow-up of data in source systems with operational teams across the enterprise to ensure data quality for elements used in reporting
    • Present scenarios to senior leadership for review of data discrepancies
    • Apply corrective measures in the source system when data discrepancies identified have been approved by senior leadership
    • Prepare Executive level reporting for multiple forums including Technology Operations, Risk Metrics and Technical Strategy
    • Curate special topics for reporting that encompass strategies, commitments, outcomes that are related to current impacting issues in the technology operations space
  • This role interacts with all levels of technologists and leadership across the Technology Organization

The Skills You Bring

  • 3+ years proven experience as a data analyst or related role with working knowledge of:
    • ServiceNow, PowerBI, and Data Management and Visualization Tools such as Nucleus, Snowflake, Manta, Collibra DQ, Alation
    • SQL, Python, R or other programming languages used for data manipulation and analysis
  • Thorough understanding of ITSM processes: Incident, Change, and Problem Management
  • Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required to meet reporting deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent years of experience
