The Sr Cyber Security Engineer role will be focused on cyber data analytics and automation. The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven security solutions to protect Ally's assets, data, brand, and consumers in a cloud-first, consumer-friendly operating model. This role will require a cyber security professional with strong technical expertise in data engineering and automation to partner with Security Engineering, Security Operations, DevOps, and business leaders. This role will be responsible for leveraging security orchestration automation and response (SOAR) solutions to streamline security operations and incident response, working closely with security teams to enhance detection and response capabilities.
The Work Itself
- Implement and manage SIEM solutions to monitor and analyze security events.
- Develop and fine-tune correlation search, alerts and use cases to detect and respond to security incidents
- Design and implement SOAR Playbooks to automate security incident response
- Improve and optimize SOAR workflows
- Integrate SOAR with various security tools and systems
- Develop and implement ML models to detect anomalies and predict security threats
- Integrate ML use cases into existing security infrastructure
- Ensure data quality, integrity and consistency across various data sources
- Analyze security data and incidents to identify trends, anomalies, and potential threats.
- Collaborate with security analysts and IT teams to implement incident response strategies.
- Create documentation for automated processes, incident response protocols, and system configurations.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, tools, and technologies to enhance SOAR capabilities.
- Provide training and support to team members on SOAR functionalities and best practices.
The Skills You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in cyber security, with a focus on SIEM, SOAR and ML
- 1+ years of experience with security orchestration automation and response (SOAR) platforms
- 1+ years of experience in cyber data engineering and/or cyber data analytics
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or Computer Information Sciences, or 3+ years of relevant experience
- Proficient in scripting technologies such as Python, PowerShell, and API
- Hands-on experience in automation platforms, including writing playbooks and troubleshooting
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to integrate multiple tools and APIs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Expertise in cloud-native technologies and implementation patterns to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and collaborative work environments.
- Familiar with enterprise change management
