The Opportunity
This role is on a hybrid scheduled based out of our Detroit, MI or Charlotte, NC office.
The Technology, Security and Data Risk Senior Analyst, working within the Technology, Security and Data Risk team, will primarily be responsible for IT Project Monitoring Risk Assessments and Control Testing, FedLine and SWIFT compliance testing, as well as technology, security and data related metric work. The successful candidate will have experience in IT Audit, Information Security or Risk. The position will require the ability to consult on IT/Information Security risks, develop and execute test plans and manage multiple priorities efficiently while demonstrating excellent time management skills.
The Work Itself
- Lead IT Project Monitoring Risk Assessments and Control Testing
- Project monitoring occurs over an annual timeframe, multiple projects will be in flight at the same time
- Design testing objectives/steps and independently perform testing of higher complexity controls
- Independently perform IT control testing including assessing the design and operating effectiveness
- Actively lead walkthrough meetings
- Prepare and deliver written/verbal project monitoring updates
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other individuals on the Technology, Security and Data Risk team.
- Document test results and provide support for an informed, objective opinion of the risk exposure.
- Review management action plans to assess effectiveness of proposed remediation and appropriateness of the timeline.
- Identify emerging technology risks and lead the dialog among stakeholders to ensure that these risks are considered for entry into the IT risk register.
The Skills You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in IT Audit, IT Risk Management, or Information Security
- Public accounting or corporate Internal Audit experience strongly preferred
- Experience in the finance / banking industry is a plus
- High level of proficiency in IT control testing required
- Industry designation preferred (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CRISC)
- Bachelor's degree required in relevant field of study
- Strong knowledge of common IT/Cyber concepts, risks, and controls as well as self-driven desire to research current IT/Cyber landscape
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong detail orientation with ability to research, compile, and report on data
- Ability to successfully work independently, demonstrate capability to autonomously manage tasks, prioritize responsibilities and achieve objectives
