Ally and Your Career

Ally Financial only succeeds when its people do - and that’s more than some cliché people put on job postings. We live this stuff! We see our people as, well, people - with interests, families, friends, dreams, and causes that are all important to them. Our focus is on the health and safety of our teammates as well as work-life balance and diversity and inclusion. From generous benefits to a variety of employee resource groups, we strive to build paths that encourage employees to stretch themselves professionally. We want to help you grow, develop, and learn new things. You’re constantly evolving, so shouldn’t your opportunities be, too?

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

The Opportunity

This role is on a hybrid schedule in office a few days a week with some remote work.

The Operational Risk Testing and Monitoring (T&M) Oversight Team is responsible for establishing enterprise-wide requirements for the consistent development and execution of testing and monitoring activities in line with industry standards and regulatory expectations.  The team performs activities to ensure adherence to those internal requirements and evaluate T&M programs for quality and comprehensiveness.  The team also drives the sharing of best and consistent practices and fostering integration and communication across T&M Teams to reduce duplication of effort, optimize resources, and take advantage of subject matter expertise while also ensuring appropriate monitoring and testing coverage.

The Operational Risk Senior Analyst will assist in the oversight of the T&M programs across the enterprise to assess adherence to the Enterprise T&M Policy and help drive best and consistent T&M practices across Ally.

ORM T&M sits within Ally’s Independent Risk Management (IRM) function. IRM maintains and implements Ally's risk management framework and independently oversees risk-taking activities, sets parameters representative of a strong risk culture that encourages an informed, measured, disciplined, and balanced approach to risk-taking and fair and honest treatment of customers, counterparties, and employees. IRM's responsibilities include providing an objective, critical assessment of risks and evaluation of whether Ally remains aligned with its risk appetite and risk limits.

  • Assist T&M teams in all stages of plan execution within the GRC tool, including managing ServiceNow requests (intake, submission, and validation).
  • Support the deployment of enterprise-wide T&M technology solutions via the GRC by identifying defects and participating in testing enhancements made to the GRC tool.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners, business line contacts and other key stakeholders.

  • Identify improvement opportunities to continue to enhance and mature the T&M program.
