Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

The Opportunity

This role is on a hybrid schedule , in office a few times each week in our New York City office. 

The qualified candidate will support the Market & Liquidity Risk team, a second-line risk team, with daily market risk reporting, senior/Board level risk committee communication and reporting, policy compliance monitoring, Enterprise Risk strategic initiatives, and other governance efforts as required. Much of the focus will be analyzing investment securities comprised of equities, equity options, treasury bonds, agency residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), non-agency RMBS, agency commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), and corporate & municipal bonds. Broader responsibilities will include analysis of Ally’s private equity portfolio and opportunity to work with other groups within the broader team including the liquidity, interest rate and counterparty risk teams.

The Work Itself

  • Prepare, analyze and distribute daily risk reporting packages
  • Work with IT to improve daily processes through automation
  • Provide analysis and create materials for committee meetings and reporting
  • Stay abreast of Capital Market developments through published research and other sources
  • Learn investment and hedging products/strategies and understand how they fit into Ally’s balance sheet
  • Lead and assist with projects typically aimed at improving oversight activities
  • Support the broader Market and Liquidity Risk team as needed

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative role such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science.
  • 3+ years professional experience in a corporate setting required
  • 1+ years in a reporting role responsible for producing and managing strict deliverables from multiple and complex datasets
  •  Knowledge of bond math (e.g. discounted cash flows, duration) and basic statistics (e.g. standard deviation, regressions)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tool experience required,  Power BI preferred 
  • Professional experience required in Python. SQL or other programming languages a plus
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or QRM a plus
  • Interest in capital markets (e.g. fixed-income, equities, derivatives, monetary policy)
  •  Experience managing and reconciling large datasets segmented multiple different ways
  •  Strong analytical and technical skills
  •  Strong work ethic, persistence and determination in problem solving
  • Ability to produce deliverables accurately and on time with minimal supervision
  • Ability to filter, analyze, and translate data into meaningful information from which to draw conclusions
  • Demonstrated ability to take full ownership of deliverables and be accountable for results
  • Willingness and ability to continually improve processes and document procedures

Base Pay Range: $85000 - $150000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
