Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

Do you believe in modern software development methods, teamwork, creativity, and collaboration within a diverse development environment to produce the next generation of data - analytics platforms and services? If so, then we are interested in talking to you! Ally is seeking a Senior Analyst - Data Management within Ally's data technologies development and management space. The ideal candidate will have personal experience implementing data lakes, data analytics, and master data management solutions, including data ingestion, data homogenization - data preparation, data quality checking and management, structured and unstructured data processing, advanced analytics, and business intelligence.

Experience with modern self-service data capabilities, data management and governance, data modeling architecture is also a plus. Candidates having strong analytical skills, hands on development experience, strong SQL skills, ability to multi-task, and strong verbal and written communication skills will be best suited for the team.

The Work Itself

  • Work Collabratively with business stakeholders and data engineering partners  to design and deliver solutions in an Agile context.
  • Experience in Agile, Kanban delivery and DevOps/CI-CD automation.
  • Solutions analysis and design, balancing technical and business factors.
  • High-level and low-level design of real time and batch system interfaces and data enrichment pipelines in a cloud-native data ecosystem.
  • Solving problems and support of data & analytics solutions end-to-end.
  • Promoting and enforcing design and development standards
  • Mid-level business partner engagement; management of relationship and inter-group planning among technology leadership/peers.
  • Design, implement, code, test and maintain database technologies.
  • Prepare and review the code procedural documentation composed by data teams.
  • Perform modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures..
  • Apply best practice for tuning for overall system performance.
  • Supports software development and test teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Includes incremental script execution and defect resolution.
  • Provides support for software/code releases.
  • Researches interfaces to identify and code required updates to support integration.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other relevant field of study.
  • 3 years of relevant experience required, 5+ years of relevant experience preferred specifically in field of Data Engineering, Data Management, Data warehousing, Data Analysis, Data Governance ,Business Analysis/Coordination Including ETL and Reporting.
  • Experience working in an Agile and Kanban delivery environment
  • Working Experience of Oracle SQL, Snow SQL, DBT, Python including solid understanding of SQL performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle including code reviews, testing, code releases.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and drive solutions end to end using various technologies to solve data problems and develop solutions.
  • Ability to provide guidance, oversight, and peer review to more junior database developers.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge in Cloud Environments with AWS/AZURE, SNOWFLAKE, QLIK, DATASTAGE etc.
  • Proven track record of customer satisfaction, delivery success, ability to establish and maintain appropriate relationships with Business & IT partners.
  • Knowledge of Data Migration, Data Governance, Data Security and Data Quality.
  • Experience in Reporting/Visualization (i.e: PowerBI preferably)

Base Pay Range: $70000 - $100000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
