The Opportunity

The Cyber Security Analyst position is a valued member of the Information Protection and Risk Management team. The L1 Analyst is part of the SOC (Security Operations Center) team and works closely with other members of the IPRM program to develop and implement a comprehensive approach to the management of security risks.

This role is responsible for working with other Security Operations Center team members in responding to security events according to established policies and best practices.

The Work Itself

  • First level response for real time security alerts and events
  • Determine level of event urgency and escalate as necessary
  • Perform phishing investigations and response
  • Good understanding of concepts around Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK Framework
  • Data mining through use of SIEM or other data analytics solutions
  • Report generation around security events and metrics
  • Ensure that all security events are properly documented/tracked to meet audit and legal requirements
  • Develop documentation in support of response processes and/or procedures

The Skills You Bring


  • 1+ years experience in a Security Operations environment; Industry standard certifications, such as Security+, CYSA+, or similar preferred
  • Good understanding of security mitigation solutions at all layers with a practical understanding of network protocols and operating systems
  • A self-starting mentality and passion for analysis, with interests in using state of the art technology and identifying unconventional opportunities for success
  • Ability to analyze large data sets to identify trends/anomalies indicative of malicious activity
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate between risk management partners, data stewards, leadership, and technology partners
  • Desire to work within a diverse group of people and passion for challenging the status quo​
  • Knowledge of current cyber security threats, techniques, and landscapes, as well as a desire to stay up-to-date in these topics and continue learning more about the cyber realm
