The Opportunity
The Work Itself
- Serve as the first-level responder for real time security alerts and events, escalating to appropriate internal teams as necessary
- Perform phishing investigations and response
- Assist in the development of monitoring solutions to enhance the visibility and security of on-prem and cloud infrastructure
- Help track and document security events to meet audit and legal requirements
- Participate in SOC processes such as incident response, identifying threats in applications, and assisting with broader threat intelligence initiatives
- Develop documentation in support of response processes and/or procedures
The Skills You Bring
- 1+ year of experience in cloud engineering (AWS, Azure, or similar platforms), cloud security, or related
- Familiarity with cloud-based monitoring and security tools for incident response; Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, etc.
- Practical understanding of network protocols and operating systems
- Basic knowledge of security practices, incident response, and security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, etc)
- Familiar with concepts around Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK Framework
- Understanding or background in code development
- Any basic security certifications, such as Security+ or CYSA+
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
- Relevant certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Security Specialty) or Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate)
- Hands-on experience with AWS, including tools like Lambda, ECS, EKS, DynamoDB, S3, EventBridge, or equivalent Azure services
- Experience with cloud infrastructure management and using industry tools such as Terraform or HashiCorp for provisioning/managing cloud environments
- DevOps process experience with tools like Gitlab
