The Opportunity

In the role of an RPA Technical Lead, you will oversee a team through different phases of projects including discovery, solution generation, design, development, and deployment.  You will contribute to knowledge transfer with the objective of providing high-quality and value-adding solutions to customers within. Abstract thinking and problem-solving skills will be needed for coding and representing processes in diagrams.

Our ideal candidate will maintain technical responsibility throughout the project and lead RPA process analysis, specification, solution design, development and delivery. You will provide both functional and technical expertise. You will work within project planning constraints, communicating project risks and issues to the project manager accordingly and providing mitigation approaches and inputs to the change control process. You will need to have high-level experience with design, coding, testing, support and debugging of Automation Anywhere software. You will have the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and respond to users, technical teams and business partners, in a timely and appropriate manner.  It is will be expected that you work collaboratively with the team to fix issues. In addition, you will create and maintain all required solution documentation. Finally, you will provide coaching and mentorship to RPA developers.

The Work Itself

  • Design, develop, and configure Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software systems to meet business process and application requirements
  • Design and implement elements to improve automation performance and re-use (e.g. runtime configurations / settings / Actions).
  • Hands-on knowledge of Automation Anywhere products, its architecture (On prem and A360)
  • Lead a team of developers, onshore and offshore 
  • Knowledge of Cloud Platforms and Services such as AWS
  • Diagram and document the automation solutions in a detailed and well-organized manner in Solution Design and Technical Design documents
  • Delegate work with all developers based on complexity of the stories, technical capability of the individuals in the team and efficiently use the available resources
  • Ensure development teams clearly understand the design and are able to understand the Agile development methodology to deliver the solution for cloud/on prem attended and unattended bots
  • Act as technical SME in Automation Anywhere to clients
  • Coordinate with client cross functional teams for discussion and approvals from the Automation COE, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and Security
  • Mentor staff-level developers on coding best practices and serve as a technical escalation point during development.
  • Code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality
  • Ability to understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solution
  • Work with Product Owners, business analysts and automation development teams for automations
  • Research and evaluate potential technology solutions to meet business needs.
  • Ensure best practices, standards, reusability of automations solutions.
  • Conduct and lead white-boarding sessions, workshops, design sessions, and project meetings as needed, playing a key role in client relations.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts and demos needed for client internal presentations.
  • Maintain sustain activities by creating automation processes around monitoring and avoid manual monitoring and review as much as possible

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science or related degree---preferred
  • Proven experience as Technical Lead in Automation Anywhere for 3+ years
  • Over all IT development experience for 3+ years
  • Solution Architect Certification in Automation Anywhere is preferred
  • Experience with design and development of RPA automations using Automation Anywhere in a larger organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to write concise technical docs and present ideas.
  • A passion for automation software design with a talent for independently solving complex technical problems with Automation Anywhere
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams supporting automation development
  • Experience and working knowledge in programming languages i.e. APIs, SQL, Python etc.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
