The Opportunity

The Program Manager of Operational Risk Assessment, Operational Risk,  is accountable for the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) governance routines with a strong focus on continuous improvement and regulatory alignment. Additionally, the Operational Risk Assessment Manager is responsible for optimizing the Risk Assessment framework and its understanding across the organization. This individual works cross-functionally with Risk and Compliance, as well as Business Line partners and may communicate scope, progress, issues and risks to stakeholders at various levels. Key responsibilities include managing regulatory and audit requests, enhancing Ally's RCSA program and governance routines, advancing Ally's RCSA strategy, and developing training and communications.

The Work Itself

  • Support the Program Director of Operational Risk Assessment in the ongoing development and refinement of the RCSA governance practices, tools, reporting and technology.
  • Support the  delivery of timely responses to regulatory and audit requests, serving as coordinator for the collection of materials.
  • Manage the RCSA Program training and communications efforts with a cohesive vision and execution across the team; assist with RCSA training facilitation.
  • Coordinate and lead RCSA stakeholder forums for training and awareness of programmatic updates and initiatives.
  • Develop innovation/automation enhancements to assist in programmatic effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Leads projects, program development efforts, process enhancement initiatives, and risk management efforts intended to facilitate achievement of objectives.
  • Tracks issues and works to troubleshoot roadblocks in order to minimize impact to projects; providing management with alternative solutions as needed.
  • Establishes processes to anticipate customer and stakeholder needs. Analyzes present-state, developing enhancement opportunities for future-state approaches and implementation.
  • Create presentations for senior management-level committees (e.g., Operation Risk Committee, Enterprise Risk Management Committee) and various other stakeholders across the three lines of defense
  • Create and sustain reporting on the RCSA program, as well as the results/output of RCSA execution.

The Skills You Bring


  •  Minimum 5+ years of Risk Management/Compliance experience is preferred.
  •  Experience with GRC Tools required (e.g., Archer or equivalent experience).
  •  Ability to independently problem solve in scenarios where a precedent does not exist.
  •  Strong proficiency with all Microsoft products (Word PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong analytic ability with experience in data analytic reporting and management
  • Able to prioritize efforts based on program objectives, skilled at effectively estimating work, and proven commitment and to deliver on deadlines.
