The Work Itself
- Lead security architecture reviews for cloud-based systems, applications, and infrastructure, identifying and mitigating risks specific to the financial services industry.
- Develop and maintain secure cloud architecture patterns, frameworks, and guidelines for both public and private cloud environments and SaaS solutions.
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for cloud deployments, ensuring robust protection against evolving threats and compliance with industry regulations.
- Evaluate cloud vendors, technologies, and managed services for security posture, integration capabilities, and alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Design and implement network segmentation strategies to protect sensitive data and critical workloads in cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain cloud security strategy and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Ensure cloud architectures are resilient, highly available, and support multi-region deployments to meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, compliance, and business teams to embed security throughout the cloud solution lifecycle.
- Present complex cloud security concepts and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes impacting cloud security in the financial services sector.
The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in security architecture, with significant exposure to cloud security in the banking or financial services industry.
- Ability to mentor and coach a technical team, leading by example.
- Deep expertise in public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and private cloud environments (Nutanix), including hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
- Deep knowledge of network security, data security, SaaS/Third Party security and IAM principles.
- Proven experience with network segmentation, cloud resiliency, and multi-region deployment strategies.
- Strong understanding of financial industry regulatory frameworks (such as is FFIEC, PCI DSS, and SOX) and cybersecurity frameworks (such as NIST and CIS)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and vendor/technology evaluations in cloud environments.
- Experience developing technology strategies, roadmaps, and secure architecture patterns for cloud adoption.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional relationship-building and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS/Azure/GCP Security, CISM, TOGAF) are highly desirable.
