The Opportunity

·       The Principal - Tech Delivery Management will manage a portfolio of technology projects in the Digital technology space, specifically supporting strategic initiatives to enhance the practice of Conversational AI and ML Engineering at Ally.

·       You'll serve as the project lead to Business Partners, other IT groups, and vendor partners and will communicate scope, progress, and issues/risks to stakeholders at various levels--supporting multiple in-flight initiatives at once.

·       You’ll need an eye for detail, a steady and organized approach for managing complex interdependencies and topics, experience summarizing project status and impediments to technology executives, and a knack for creative problem-solving.

·       Keeping calm under pressure, a relentlessly positive and can-do attitude, a strong focus on team personal and professional well-being, and continuous improvement are also required.

The Work Itself

·       Deliver solution that accomplishes organizational objectives with on-time delivery, budget adherence, and exceptional quality.

·       Collaborate with senior management and executive leadership to solidify project objectives and scope.

·       Develop and drive technical strategy for IT projects based on project objectives and business requirements

·       Work across business and technology workstreams to identify, align and coordinate both independent and inter-dependent activities. Capture and track key dependencies, identify resulting issues and risks to functionality and schedules.

·       Allocate and direct technical resources to accomplish project tasks ensuring effective utilization

·       Identify and manage project issues/risks to closure and provide proper visibility to stakeholders

·       Generate an inclusive workgroup environment, which encouraged cross-group collaboration

·       Participate in team routines to maintain an integrated view of progress and issues, support teams in resolving cross-team issues and blockers where needed.

·       Facilitate joint planning and problem solving across technology teams and activities, including internal teams, vendor teams where applicable, and other supporting partners.

·       Collaborate with product owners, technical leads and other team members to identify and manage technology risks, identify mitigation strategies, and track results.

The Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years of technology work experience or equivalent work experienc
  • Experience with transforming organizations to agile at scale 
  • Dedicated agile experience with a background in portfolio management and reporting in an agile ecosystem; JIRA administration & subject matter, a plus. 
  • Familiarity and technical understanding of digital technologies and experiences preferred 
  • Ability to influence change across a matrix organization and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver solutions 
  • Customer Focus -- proven track record of customer satisfaction and delivery success and ability to establish and maintain appropriate relationships with business and IT stakeholders 
  • Consulting/Problem Solving -- ability to work in an advisory capacity to identify key technical and business problems, develop and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations 
  • Systems Delivery -- extensive experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle 
  • Technical Project Management -- expertise in project management including project planning and estimating, project budgeting, staffing, change control, and status reporting Behavioral & Communication Skills 
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, from team members to senior management 
  • Ability to exchange constructive and respectful feedback, collaborating with other groups on standards/best practices 
  • Must be able to communicate ideas and best practices, and influence implementation at all 
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to be part of an innovative team 
  • A commitment to quality, and a desire to improve
