Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

This role is in office in our NYC office. 

The Manager , Portfolio Management, Energy & Infrastructure is primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of senior project finance loans to renewable and conventional power plant borrowers. Additional assets under management may be across a broader range of structures and infrastructure-related industries. Individuals work with other senior members of the team to develop and implement a strategy for managing credit risk in accordance with established corporate policies with a goal of minimizing loan losses. Additional responsibilities include processing of waivers/amendments, internal reporting, and underwriting support.

The Manager, Portfolio Management, Energy & Infrastructure is the primary interface between the borrower and CF and as such is responsible for balancing the needs and expectations of the borrower with policies, procedures and risk tolerances of Ally CF.

Additionally, the role frequently interfaces with CF management, Ally Risk, sponsors, bank syndicate members, management teams and Ally CF support functions, including credit approval, legal, loan administration and operations. They  plays an instrumental role in developing and training junior level staff.

The Work Itself

  • Know the client and the client's business inclusive of typical PF loan structures, contract types, power markets and technologies.
  • Minimize risk.
  • Execute corporate governance responsibilities.
  • Prepare underwriting memorandum for loan modifications applicable to portfolio.
  • Timely reporting of borrower performance and loan attributes.
  • Mentor and train less experienced team members.
  • Assist in creating/maintaining a strong credit culture.

The Skills You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy project finance or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • BA in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field or any degree with relevant professional experience required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of progressive portfolio management/underwriting experience with relevant focus in the project finance sector.
  • Experience in any of the following: auditing, banking, commercial lending, underwriting, financial analysis, credit analysis, collateral management.
  • Proven success in relationship management.
  • Completion of bank/finance company credit training program preferred.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented with problem solving capability.
  • Ability to work independently with demonstrated strong time management skills.
  • Well-developed presentation and relationship building skills.
  • High level of accountability and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Technical: Advanced knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint Access and financial forecast models.

Base Pay Range: $110000 - $180000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
