The BL Monitoring resource will be responsible for implementation and execution of Information Protection and Risk Management (IPRM) processes and procedures for Ally Information Technology division. The IPRM Business Line Monitoring candidate is responsible for helping drive the Monitoring framework and strategy for IT Business Line Risk Management. The position will require the ability to effectively consult on IT/Information Security risks and issues and manage multiple priorities efficiently while demonstrating excellent time management skills.

The Work Itself

Conduct independent monitoring and testing to ensure adherence to the IT Business Line T&M program framework and applicable federal guidelines and regulatory requirements
Perform daily monitoring routines of all Key Controls to identify: Early-warning signs of material risk manifestations and unfavorable threshold elevations
Deviations from normal data patterns
Identification of continued process improvements
Understand Ally’s control environment and build effective tests against identified controls.
Document test results and provide support for an informed, objective opinion of the risk exposure
Draft testing observations and provide recommendations to management both verbally and in writing
Review management action plans to assess effectiveness of proposed remediation and appropriateness of the timeline
Review and interpret work papers and analysis presented by team members and consistently draw the right conclusions
Identify emerging technology risks and lead the dialog among stakeholders to ensure that these risks are considered for entry into the GRC tool
Collaborate with IRM Testing and Monitoring partners in support of executing the enterprise-wide control testing initiative
Develop and maintain strong cross-functional working relationships with internal business partners, including developing and presenting process trainings
Identify integration points across teams and facilitate discussions to ensure alignment of milestones, deliverables, and key tasks
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners and Business Line Executive Leadership
Engage directly with Business Line to understand business offerings, processes, and procedures; work effectively with Business Line associates while maintaining independence necessary to fulfill IPRM’s review and testing responsibilities
Monitor and drive Information Technology’s adherence to enterprise policies
Establish processes and cadences for independent monitoring and testing of Information Technology’s controls and processes and drive timely execution and completion of IPRM monitoring and testing responsibilities
Prepare and deliver presentations to IT and IPRM management as appropriate
Escalate and report technology and operational risks concerns as necessary

The Skills You Bring

·       Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (advanced degree preferred), or required experience

·       5+ years of relevant experience in Banking or Financial Services with experience in Risk Management, Information Technology, Compliance or Audit

·       3+ years of experience leading testing and monitoring activities within a federally regulated financial services company

·       Ability to interact with a variety of internal and external people in a professional manner that creates confidence in his/her knowledge and abilities and helps foster mutually satisfactory resolution to risk gaps and issues.

·       Experience with developing and implementing risk management related processes

·       Familiarity with federal banking regulatory guidelines and risk management requirements, including the regulatory expectations for third party risk management from prudential regulators (FRB and OCC)

·       Working knowledge of common risk management methodologies, internal control concepts and audit standards

·       Proficient in issue identification, partner concern and problem-solving, troubleshooting, and conflict resolution skills

·       Ability to self-prioritize tasks, work collaboratively, and support multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment

·       Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to comfortably interact with various levels of management

·       Expert proficiency with all Microsoft products (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project)

·       And personal integrity with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters professionally and with the appropriate level of judgement and maturity.
