The Opportunity

The Finance Manager provides direct support to the Business Units and may be responsible for consolidated financials to include forecasting, budgeting, planning, preparation of key monthly and quarterly reports, financial statement and variance analysis, analytical support, and other financial related activities. Often entails key analysis on monthly close / reporting as well as comparisons and variance analysis vs. the corporate budget and forecast.

The Work Itself

  • Manage and improve the process and models for the planning and analysis of various revenue, expense and balance sheet items.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Risk, Treasury Ops, BSM and other partners to ensure enterprise objectives are met.
  • Long-term will assist with the development of annual business plan and financial forecasts throughout year.
  • Assist with preparation of key monthly and quarterly reports working with various business partners to understand and provide key information on their financial results (including drivers, market position, and other strategic initiatives).
  • Assist in efforts to achieve departmental goals including roll-out of new processes, strong control environment including spreadsheet controls, continual cross training, improved organizational efficiency, and management of personal development plans.
  • May assist with the development of annual business plan and financial forecasts throughout year.
  • Provide financial statement analysis and variance analysis.
  • May assist in consolidating and analyzing actual financial performance data and variances to forecast, prior month, and Business Plan Ad-hoc analysis and request responses.
  • Support special projects and financial analysis.
  • Support senior level executive reporting needs.

The Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years previous work experience within a Finance role preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience preferred in financial services.
  • Bachelor's degree (Finance or Accounting) required.
  • Advanced degree or CPA/CFA (or working toward) preferred
  • Previous finance work experience Financial Services or Mortgage Industry strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Hyperion, OneStream (or similar systems) preferred
  • Previous experience with financial models preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements.
  • Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills required.
  • Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis and prepare management presentations.
  • Ability to use mathematical techniques for forecasting.
  • Ability to influence others and work effectively in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
  • Strong communication skills required.
