The Opportunity

Ally Automotive’s Residual Team develops and delivers industry leading residuals that are critical to the success of Ally's automotive lease business. The Senior Analyst Business Analytics role is responsible for forecasting of residuals, data analysis, reporting and solutions in support of strategic residual setting. This role has a finger on the pulse of the auto industry including emerging EV & other technologies, finance, the economy and uses expertise to identify insights, contemplate impacts and make recommendations that optimize Ally’s lease business.


The Work Itself

·       Develop residual values by utilizing Ally’s proprietary residual value model output from a key partnering team by adding Editorial Adjustments based on your industry expertise and key market/industry dynamics

·       Manage and interpret industry data and provide inputs for residual value model

·       Create and deliver analysis and insights that deliver results of complex information in a clear, concise, and meaningful format to key decision makers/leadership

·       Understand and work within Ally’s risk parameters

·       Extract, clean and unify data from multiple sources using SAS, SQL, Power BI

·       Test accuracy of residual computations considering term/mileage and other factors impacting residual values

·       Optimize and automate existing and new analysis and reporting

·       Continuously contemplate improvements and test accuracy

·       Proactively and upon request rely upon your automotive and data expertise to support strategic decision making

·       Partner and collaborate w/ key internal stakeholders from modeling, remarketing, pricing, product, sales, and risk/audit

    The Skills You Bring

    ·       Bachelor's degree in related field

    ·       3+ Years of Data and Business Analysis Preferred, Auto finance/lease experience is a plus

    ·       Knowledge of the mechanics of automobiles and the auto industry preferred

    ·       Electric Vehicle and High Line Vehicle market knowledge and expertise is a plus

    ·       Residual setting/forecasting experience a plus

    ·       Demonstrably strong Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills

    ·       Experience creating Power BI dashboards and SAS are a plus

    ·       Self-starter with ability to work and take initiative in a fast-paced environment

    ·       Ability to manage projects, prioritize and deliver results

    ·       Strong financial analytical skills

    ·       Ability to simplify complex problems and develop creative solutions

    ·       Organizational and interpersonal skills
