Ally and Your Career

Ally Financial only succeeds when its people do - and that’s more than some cliché people put on job postings. We live this stuff! We see our people as, well, people - with interests, families, friends, dreams, and causes that are all important to them. Our focus is on the health and safety of our teammates as well as work-life balance and diversity and inclusion. From generous benefits to a variety of employee resource groups, we strive to build paths that encourage employees to stretch themselves professionally. We want to help you grow, develop, and learn new things. You’re constantly evolving, so shouldn’t your opportunities be, too?

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

The Opportunity

Ally Supply Chain is seeking an experienced and execution-focused Technology Vendor Manager to support and operate within the centralized vendor management function, with specific accountability for technology and digital vendors across the enterprise. This role is responsible for directly managing assigned technology vendor relationships, ensuring consistent execution of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) and technology risk requirements, and driving vendor performance, stability, and issue resolution.

This is a hands-on role focused on active management of technology vendors. The Manager will operate within Ally’s established TPRM, Information Security, and technology risk frameworks, partnering closely with Technology leadership, Information Security, Risk, Legal, Finance, Sourcing, and Architecture to ensure vendors meet contractual, performance, resilience, and regulatory expectations. Experience managing vendors in a regulated financial services environment is strongly preferred.

The Work Itself

  • Own and manage a portfolio of assigned technology vendor relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for ongoing vendor management activities.
  • Execute standardized vendor onboarding, ongoing monitoring, periodic reviews, and offboarding activities in alignment with TPRM, Information Security, and technology risk policies.
  • Monitor vendor performance against defined KPIs, SLAs, uptime and availability commitments, incident response requirements, and service expectations; drive remediation for performance, security, or operational issues.
  • Coordinate technology-specific due diligence, including assessments related to information security, data protection, resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery, in partnership with Risk and Technology SMEs.
  • Support governance routines for technology vendors including service reviews, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), operational health checks, issue escalation, and corrective action tracking.
  • Partner with Sourcing, Technology, Architecture, Legal, Finance, and Risk to support contract compliance, renewals, amendments, licensing management, and ongoing vendor obligations.
  • Track and manage vendor risks, issues, and remediation plans, ensuring timely closure and clear documentation.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records, risk artifacts, performance metrics, and reporting within vendor management, risk, and contract lifecycle systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve vendor performance, reduce operational and technology risk, enhance resilience, and drive cost or efficiency improvements.
  • Provide insights and reporting to leadership on technology vendor health, risk trends, incidents, and systemic issues.

The Skills You Bring

Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Technology Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in technology vendor management, third-party risk management, procurement, sourcing, or IT service management.
  • Direct experience managing technology vendors (e.g., software, cloud, IT services, fintechs, data providers, platforms).
  • Familiarity with operating within established TPRM, Information Security, and technology risk frameworks, executing defined controls and requirements.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments (financial services strongly preferred).
  • Understanding of technology contract constructs including SLAs, uptime commitments, incident management, data protection, and audit rights.
  • Ability to analyze vendor performance, risk, and incident data and communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence across Technology, Risk, and business teams without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with vendor management, risk, IT service management, and contract lifecycle tools (e.g., Coupa, ServiceNow, CLM tools) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, documentation quality, and follow-through.
