The Opportunity

The Manager Purchasing Office & Coupa Solution Management position will focus on managing the day-to-day activities of the Purchasing Desk for the acquisition of goods and services and oversight of the Coupa solution within the Ally Supply Chain department. Additionally, the role will collaborate with the Purchasing Director and other team members to establish purchasing best practices and drive Coupa optimization strategies.

The Work Itself

  • Oversight of Purchasing Desk professional(s) which will include an emphasis on purchase requisition review and buying best practices
  • Evaluate purchasing transactional data activities to manage workflow and proactively drive contracting efficiencies
  • Documents and maintains Purchasing and Coupa solution workflows to support daily processes
  • Managerial oversight of RFx Center of Excellence
  • Educate stakeholders to drive purchasing channel adoption
  • Coordinate Purchasing desk and Coupa issue identification, escalation, and procedures.
  • Oversight of the Coupa solution tool to promote user adoption and maintain issue resolution processes
  • Responsible for execution of the overall Coupa Product strategy as set forth by Purchasing Leadership
  • Provides input regarding direct report(s) performance review and career path development.
  • Identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate Ad hoc requests related to Audit, Risk & Controls and process review

The Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years of purchasing and/or supply chain platform management experience within financial services industry required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Managerial experience with multiple direct reports required
  • Experience with defining use cases, developing test plans and agile methodology
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain/P2P processes with the capability to analyze at a high level, technical business requirements to recommend solutions and implement change.
  • Coupa, ARIBA, Oracle PeopleSoft or other purchasing platform end user/admin proficiency
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (VISIO, PowerPoint, Excel) strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively across business levels (both vertically and horizontally)
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal business partners and experience working with multiple business partners in a collaborative and team-oriented manner.
  • Ability to develop and communicate effectively with direct reports.
  • Requires minimal supervision or direction to effectively implement strategic objectives.
  • High degree of self-motivation and strong work ethic.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
