The Opportunity

The Marketing Manager – Data Science will be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in data sources, building and applying models, tools, and analyses in support of driving key objectives through our owned marketing channels for the Ally businesses

The Work Itself

  • Determine, develop, and document data requirements, modeling assumptions and model results for best practice methodologies deployed and alternatives approaches considered
  • Conduct statistical modeling and analysis projects to support key goals and objectives
  • Collaborate and work with Risk partners in Model Development, Validation and Performance Monitoring
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Technology partners on opportunity analysis, problem definition and solution delivery for a variety of business objectives including relationship deepening, customer acquisition, and channel optimization
  • Assist data science related activities to support our tools, identify new methodologies to improve operations and business outcomes.

The Skills You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in statistical modeling and machine learning
  • Degree in quantitative field, such as Statistics, Math, Engineering or similar field of study (Masters preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of statistical programming packages such as R or SAS
  • Strong knowledge of data preparation programs such as SQL or Python
  • Experience with linear and logistic regression, time series analysis, decision trees, survival analysis, designs of experiment, mathematical programming and other quantitative techniques
  • Excellent analytical, project management, problem solving and communication skills
  • A passion for continuous learning and delivering results in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex data into clear action-oriented recommendations for the business partners
  • Comfort level with ambiguity and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
