We're looking for a passionate Data Science Analyst with great communication skills for our Auto Valuations Team. This person will conduct ad hoc analysis, analytics projects and create data products to surface insights and drive business strategy related to vehicle remarketing and pricing. The Work Itself
- In this role, you'll help us make data-driven decisions by:
- - Leading complex analytics projects which require technical sophistication and the ability to navigate ambiguity
- - Performing ad hoc analysis and quickly provide results and recommendations
- - Conducting exploratory data analysis (EDA) using Excel and programming in Python and/or R
- - Gathering data from diverse sources, cleansing and transforming, and designing and deploying data pipelines for ad hoc and automated analytical products
- - Creating self-service data products in Power BI, Python, R and driving independent decision-making
- - Helping document analytical standards and processes
- - Collaborating with Ally employees in business areas, technology, peers, model risk, and many others to build informed analytical products and insights
- - Conduct model performance monitoring and assisting in model governance documentation
- - Learning new analytical approaches not being used today and exploring with team
- - Working independently with occasional support from manager. This is an individual contributor role.
- - Designing and deploying data products in an AWS tenant using Snowflake, SageMaker, nifi, and others
- - Using agile, design thinking and team development work practices using Jira, Mural and BitBucket
The Skills You Bring
- - 2 years analytics or data science experience
- - Bachelors Degree Preferred in Quantitative/Technical Discipline (Maths, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Economics)
- - Certificates from Coursera, Udemy, DataCamp et. al. helpful
- - Intermediate skill with Excel
- - Intermediate skill with SQL
- - Basic skill with Unix
- - Basic skill in Technical Report Writing and Presentations
- - Intermediate skill in programming/scripting in Python, R or SAS
- - Basic skill in Exploratory Data Analysis
- - Intermediate knowledge of and skill with Statistics
- - Basic knowledge of structured and unstructured data and data modeling
- - Basic knowledge of software development
- - Awareness of Data Science/Analytics/BI Methodology like CRISP-DM
- - Awareness of AWS and cloud development tools like Snowflake, Sagemaker and nifi
- - Awareness of Agile, Design Thinking, Team Development and current digital work practices
- - Prioritizes day-to-day tasks with longer-term projects while communicating with stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- - Crafts engaging data-driven stories to influence decision-makers
- - Thinks deeply and critically to ask the right question and apply the right technique to get the best answer
- - Pays attention to detail/Ensures accurate deliverables
