Join the Ally Enterprise Technology team as a Director of Technology Operations. As a Technology Director, you will be responsible for critical Auto Loan Consumer application support, operations, and reporting. You will lead a team that performs key maintenance and improvements to consumer facing systems and applications, ensuring that those systems continue to perform as expected. Additional duties include disaster recovery planning, implementation of critical tooling and monitoring and operational reporting.

The Work Itself

  • Champion improvements to system / application performance and stability 
  • Lead incident triaging & standardize methodologies for measuring failed customer interactions 
  • Lead disaster recovery plans & event execution 
  • Lead operational processes & metric management; Implement effective tools and monitoring as new components and/or features are rolled out 
  • Support failover and redundancy validation within our system infrastructure 
  • Drive improvements in the use of observability tools and other metric capturing & reporting systems 

The Skills You Bring

  • Effective and professional oral and written communication skills; ability to translate detailed technical problems/solutions into easy to understand business terms 
  • Proven track record of providing thought leadership in the technology area -- and applying technology to solve business problems 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; Ability to ask the right questions and effectively diagnose the root cause of technical issues 
  • Experience with leading Contact Center vendors and solutions 
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization; Good communication, analytical and organizational skills 
  • Experience with AWS tools and microservices 
  • Experience working with and leading onshore and offshore teams 
  • Grasps new technologies and can adapt to rapid shifts in priorities 
  • Experience with implementing sustainable, audit-ready processes to support IT controls such as executing deployment, access management, audits, incident management, change management, etc. 
  • Correlate environment conditions and metrics to application events 
  • Possesses strong analytical, problem-solving skills and exhibits strong leadership skills 
  • Production support, service management, ITIL experience 
  • Collaborative and team focused; Eagerness to learn 
  • Ability to occasionally work off-hours / weekends 
  • 7+ years of professional experience; Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar fields
