The Work Itself
- Lead the design, build, pilot and scaling of a consolidated vendor management function through partnerships with business line leaders and stakeholders to transition responsibilities and enhance existing third-party framework.
- Standardize vendor onboarding, performance monitoring, and offboarding processes in alignment with existing TPRM policies.
- Establish a consistent governance cadence including KPIs, SLAs, scorecards, business reviews, and escalation protocols across all vendor relationships.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the vendor management team and the existing third-party risk management function.
- Ensure consistent application of due diligence, risk assessment, and audit requirements across vendor relationships.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, Risk, and business unit leaders to align vendor strategy with organizational needs.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in vendor relationships and service delivery.
- Manage and develop a team of vendor management professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
The Skills You Bring
- 9+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in vendor management, procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Financial services industry experience is strongly preferred along with experience managing technology vendors.
- Demonstrated experience centralizing or consolidating a federated vendor management function.
- Experience operating within an established TPRM or risk governance framework, executing policy requirements.
- Experience leading and developing a vendor management team.
- Track record of managing complex, multi-vendor portfolios across enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with change management principles as they apply to organizational consolidation and process standardization.
- Strong financial acumen including cost-benefit analysis, budget management, and spend analytics.
- Proficiency with vendor management software and contract lifecycle management systems (e.g., Coupa, CLM, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to develop executive-level presentations and reporting.
