The Opportunity

In early 2021 Ally’s CFO Group launched a comprehensive, multi-year finance transformation program. As we continue to build out the infrastructure to support the various transformation initiatives, we are looking for a talented leader to support the Sr. Director of CFO Data Strategy and drive successful execution of the Finance Data Hub initiative, which will establish a centralized data platform serving as a single source of truth for all finance data. The ideal candidate will have strong data management background and communication skills, an ability to juggle competing priorities in a dynamic environment, and a passion for driving organizational change.

The Work Itself

  • Act as a change agent driving the CFO Group’s data-driven transformation
  • Drive the implementation of enterprise data governance processes, tools, and operating models across finance to drive data quality improvements, clarity in data governance roles and responsibilities, and overall data management maturity
  • Own and drive governance of the FDH business architecture around data and implement a clearinghouse process to ensure sound data design decisions for finance
  • Drive tracking and resolution of program risks, issues, actions, and decisions and ongoing reporting around those to the stakeholders
  • Partner with business and technology leaders and SMEs to define, measure, and report on KPIs to measure operational performance and project success
  • Collaborate with finance and technology leadership and SMEs to develop and execute a change management plan

The Skills You Bring

  •   10+ years of demonstrated experience in data management, data architecture, data governance, and change management, of which at least 3-4 years must be driving large scale cross-organizational programs within an Agile framework
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Prior banking industry experience strongly preferred
  • Strong skills as a consultant, influencer, conflict manager, and negotiator; demonstrated ability to bring individual silos along without direct reporting authority to drive decisions/outcomes that serve the broader organizational interest proven problem-solving skills, with a breadth of perspective and ability to “connect the dots” even in areas outside one’s primary subject matter expertise, and ability to reach beyond the immediate sphere of influence to pull in stakeholders and drive expedient resolution
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing change within an organization
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop executive-level presentations
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, making trade-off decisions where necessary to best benefit the organization
  • Ability to proactively identify and manage risks
