The Opportunity

  • As a significant leader in the Originations Strategy team, the Primary responsibilities will include leading the Credit strategy development and performance analysis for the Direct and the Digital Business.  The ideal candidate must  an innovative and strategic thinker, willing to challenge status quo, quick learner, self-motivated and detail oriented. The position will lead multiple teams and will work with a large variety of teams across Ally Auto.

The Work Itself

  • As Director of Credit strategy, you will lead a team of managers and Analysts to drive credit strategies for acquiring new customers across the Direct and Digital channels for Ally - Auto.
  • Deliver data backed strategies to optimize Credit policy, Automated  decisioning and Stip policy
  • Develop an integrated approach , working cross functionally with Business, Pricing  Product, Sales, Risk, Servicing  teams to strategically grow a profitable business
  • Develop and implement a data backed, granular analytical framework to identify opportunity segments
  • Analyze and evaluate alternate / external data to augment existing models
  • Partner with Business intelligence team to develop tools and Reports
  • Hire, retain and develop a team of Strategy analysts

The Skills You Bring

  • 8+ years of deep experience in Consumer Finance - Credit risk analytics / Strategy  
  • 4+ years leading and managing teams
  • Exceptional analytical skills with ability to dive into details without losing the big picture
  • Proven experience in working with leaders across various functions
  • Working knowledge of  SAS, SQL and other data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn rapidly and solve problems dynamically.
  • Self-starter, with a high degree of initiative , strong vision and  drive to deliver results
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • BS or MS in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Science or similar quantitative analytical field.
