The Opportunity

A business development strategist helps chart the course for future growth for the sales and sales operations team at Ally. Part of your job is to identify our Go to Market Strategy as it relates to 3rd party relationships. You will need to have strong leadership skills in order to motivate staff to embrace action plans and new strategies and to ensure that the company works together effectively.

You will work closely with the Dir. Of Customer Success and collaborate with other cross-functional groups, such as marketing or finance teams.  You will work on developing strategies to expand the business and create partnerships with other businesses or develop different business strategies designed to increase ally profitability. You must be aware of business trends and how they can impact changes in our marketplace.

The Work Itself

  • Coordinate with the management to research, identify, analyze, and execute new business initiatives, including channel partners
  • Collect customer requirements and business data to create a strategy.
  • Work with the Dir. Of Customer Success to implement, test, and monitor identified initiatives
  • Create business development strategies to increase the company revenue and brand value.
  • Research the market trends to determine the customer demand for the proposed products and services.
  • Work with the internal departments and external partners to execute business plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to achieve business goals.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and develop a business plan to meet these requirements.
  • Implement business relationships and partnerships through direct meetings with customers and industry personnel.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective clients for new opportunities.
  • Manage existing relationships with current partners
  • Plan and conduct creative corporate programs to impress the clients
  • Support the management in contract development, customer negotiations, and product enhancements.
  • Working with our deal desk analyst to execute the contracts and bring them through business line governance.
  • Coordinate with management to review and improvise the relevant business development activities.
  • Participate in seminars, trade shows, and professional meetings to represent the company.
  • Manage employees who report directly to this position.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, MBA is nice but not required
  • 5+ years in financial services or channel partnerships
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience is preferred.
  • Ability to provide advice/direction in primary areas of expertise.
  • Ability to leverage technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results.
  • Technical knowledge, project management, and ability to influence others.
  • Understanding channel sales and 3rd party relationships and the use of those to scale and bridge product gaps a must
