The Sr. Automation Engineer will leverage their expertise in designing test scenarios, feature files, and test scripts to support quality automation objectives for the Advantage Program that allow Ally customers to work smarter.

The Work Itself

  • Design, build, and execute test automation scripts for UI and API testing in a web-based environment in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
  • Develop test scenarios, feature files, and test scripts based on user stories
  • Recommend techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality
  • Collaborate with product owners for user story clarification, backlog grooming, story sizing, sprint planning, task breakdown, design, development, and testing
  • Exert influence on the overall vision and long-range goals of your team
  • Serve as a mentor for other engineers and peers to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers

The Skills You Bring

  • 3+ years of professional experience in automation scripting and testing integration 
  • Possess robust analytical thinking skills to debug, identify, and resolve issues. We work mostly with Cypress, Javascript, and SQL, however, technologies can be learned: we care much more about your general automation engineering skill than knowledge of a particular technology
  • Enthusiasm for staying up-to-date on tech industry developments and engaging the Ally community on new advancements 
  • Desire to work within a diverse group of people and passion for challenging the status quo
  • Experience with rapid, iterative development cycles and continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies
