The Opportunity

As the Sr. Business Partner – HR you will have the opportunity to build and deliver strategic talent solutions leveraging your natural influencing and leadership skills. Experience in employee relations, talent planning, D&I, compensation planning, and program management is ideal for this position. The ideal candidate is someone who naturally builds strong and trusting relationships with leaders and can leverage those relationships to drive people strategies in their business unit. This opportunity will support executive-level leaders in the Dealer Financial Services (auto finance) business unit at Ally. This role will report to the Sr. Director – of HR and will have exposure to several matrix partners within the HR function. 

The Work Itself

  • Design and develop strategic plans using business knowledge; execute strategies and methods in alignment with enterprise goals and HR policies and practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and valued business partner to executive leadership and their teams; be trusted as a partner to clients and with HR colleagues.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to leaders and offer creative solutions to complex issues using a multi-disciplined approach.
  • Evaluate and analyze data and information to determine HR issues impacting the business unit.
  • Provide compensation guidance in alignment with Ally's pay for performance culture and support the annual compensation planning process.
  • Support change management and process improvement initiatives, compile HR reports, audit, and ensure data integrity.
  • Support performance management culture including management and employee development initiatives.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team on recruitment needs for business and onboarding of new employees.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure headcount and business plan alignment.
  • Applies relevant regulations, policies, and procedures to business issues and day-to-day responsibilities.

The Skills You Bring

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in HR or related field.
  • PHR or SPHR is recommended.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience in partnering with coaching and building credibility with senior leaders.
  • Ability to use professional concepts and company policies to creatively solve a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Ability to use judgment, creativity, and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.
  • Superior knowledge of employment law; independently manages complex employee relations issues.
