The Opportunity

The Senior Supervisor for the IRA Operations serves as the subject matter expert on IRA rules and IRS regulations and leads the daily activities of the team to ensure the achievement of the corporate goals for growth, retention and quality service. The scope of this position includes the oversight of the personnel within the department as well as interfacing with all levels of management, various departments, business partners, and bank customers. This role works in tandem with the Manager, Compliance, Legal and Tax to ensure all procedures adhere to applicable IRA regulations & laws


The Work Itself

  • Expert knowledge of the policies, procedures and regulatory requirements of the IRA function.
  • Monitors, maintains and enhances the activities of the team to ensure that current and prospective IRA customers are satisfied.
  • Ensures that IRA procedures are current, accurate, and reflective of the responsibility of the team and the Department and are in accordance with legal, compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Works closely with partners in Product Management, Customer Care Center, Ally Invest, Tax, Shared Services and VBOS to ensure customer service and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Monitors risk controls related to financial transactions processed against customer accounts.
  • Works with the Manager in leading and evaluating the staff to inclusive of goals, guidelines and procedures, training, performance, coaching, and direction.
  • Partners with DOSS to ensure bank compliance in the annual processing of all tax filings, including 5498 and 1099Rs

The Skills You Bring

  • 3+ years of Banking and/or Investment leadership experience required
  • Experience in IRA and/or other retirement accounts required
  • Management or Team Lead experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge and/or experience with tax preparation a plus
  • Working experience in Performance Management
