You will be our go-to expert for interpreting state regulations and circulars, conducting competitive analysis, and customizing insurance policies and products to meet the ever-evolving market needs.

You will enhance and maintain our business governance, document processes to support the business and avoid regulatory scrutiny, and support our Insurance leadership with strategic initiatives. The Work Itself
- Lead the creation, revision, and regular review of Dealership Insurance products in collaboration with Underwriting, Claims, Legal, Actuarial, and State Filing teams to support new business initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and market needs.
- Manage and formalize insurance product filings, ensuring meticulous completion of state checklists and certifications.
- Deliver prompt, articulate responses to state insurance department objections, maintaining strong regulatory relationships.
- Monitor and analyze regulatory changes to assess the need for revisions to proprietary products, ensuring compliance and competitiveness.
- Develop and distribute internal guidance on products and regulatory requirements to Underwriting staff.
- Draft and oversee the use of manuscript endorsements as requested by Underwriting staff.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, emerging threats, and competitor offerings in the dealership insurance sector.
- Serve as the primary resource for researching and understanding coverage nuances across product offerings.
- Act as the department's expert on compliance topics and address queries from independent risk management, internal audit, and regulators.
- Lead training sessions on program changes for internal stakeholders, including the sales team, to ensure seamless implementation and understanding.
- Lead efforts to advance the Governance Strategy by establishing robust frameworks that enhance business governance and operational efficiency.
- Document and refine internal processes across the Commercial Insurance Business to mitigate operational risks and prevent regulatory scrutiny, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Work closely with Insurance leadership to support strategic initiatives that drive business growth and operational excellence.
- Assist in the development and execution of recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Be the go-to resource supporting the resolution of challenges as they arise.
The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree required; JD or other related Legal degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience with a commercial insurance carrier required, preferably in the franchised dealership market, focusing on product and policy development and managing form filings.
- State filing experience required.
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is highly desirable.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements for commercial property and casualty insurance products.
- Project Management: Capable of managing multiple projects at once, ensuring they are completed on time and meet strategic goals.
- Analytical Skills: Skilled in conducting competitive analysis and interpreting complex data to support informed decision-making.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
- Process Improvement: Outside the box thinking to refine/enhance existing processes and practices.
- Problem-Solving: Able to work effectively with unclear or ambiguous information, conduct further research, and make decisions or recommend changes.
