Serves as a technical expert to lower level engineers. Acts as a liaison between the development teams and infrastructure teams to ensure consistency and commonality in technology standards. Provides technical expertise in the establishment and implementation of standard and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise. Keep up to date on technology trends and may participate in the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions. This is a mid-level to senior- level position that will report to either a Systems Engineering Manager or Director.

The Work Itself
- Configure, implement, and tune -technology- solutions to meet business and technical requirements on designated projects.
- Participate in system testing activities related to infrastructure solutions.
- Create technical documentation to ensure effective operations/support of the infrastructure solution.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Monitor technology availability and reliability and when necessary will assist with leading cross-domain operational/engineering teams and LOB application teams to triage high priority or performance degrading incidents.
- Assist with operations and production coverage; provide 1st and 2nd level support for technical area of responsibility.
- Support/Perform change requests as required for hardware upgrades, additions, configuration changes, etc. with proactive co-ordination with vendors and Ally stakeholders.
- Comply with Change Management, Release Management, IT Risk - Compliance processes and standards.
The Skills You Bring
- 3+ years of experience preferred.
- Gather client requirements and design consistent, repeatable processes for complex operations
- Ability to collaborate with IT operations, development teams, and other Line of Business (LOB) partners
- Detail and results oriented
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Prior work experience in financial services and/or other regulated environments is a plus
- Extensive experience with industry-standard trading platforms
- Experience in brokerage/finance customer service
- Working knowledge of trade and order routing lifecycle
- Working knowledge of clearing houses
