The Opportunity

As an HR Business Partner, you will serve as the key HR contact for the Deposits team, providing human capital support and guidance. While you’ll report to the Director of HR, you’ll partner closely with business leaders, COE partners and HR peers to on yearly, daily and ad hoc HR processes. As a member of the Consumer & Commercial Banking HR team, you will be a culture-carrier and participate in projects and initiatives to drive human capital change within the business.

The Work Itself

Some of the key items you will be responsible for include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with business leaders and employees in the areas of talent planning, employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, diversity, equity & inclusion, compensation, talent acquisition and development, as well as leading other day-to-day HR activities
  • Leverage your emotional intelligence and leadership skills to influence department leaders and employees to achieve business goals
  • Understand the culture and operating model of the business to drive tactics to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Advocate for a highly inclusive and diverse workforce through the support and enhancement of corporate and business unit diversity, equity & inclusion programs
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, coach and valued business partner to leaders and their teams, offering thoughtful solutions to complex issues
  • Evaluate and analyze HR data and information to understand HR issues impacting the business unit, then work to find systemic solutions
  • Provide compensation guidance in alignment with Ally's pay-for-performance culture and support annual compensation and promotion processes

The Skills You Bring

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business, HR or related field
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) or commitment to hold certification within 1 year OR Master's degree in related field
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex topics and align organization on decisions
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law

·         Ability to use professional concepts and company policies, along with personal judgment, to creatively solve a range of complex issues

  • Confident decision maker who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Results-oriented spirit, personal accountability, grit, responsiveness, and integrity
  • Prior experience supporting operations and/or financial services teams preferred
