Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

The Manager of Fraud Strategy is a key member of the Fraud Prevention team who uses their business acumen, technical skills, and customer focus to support new and emerging fraud prevention opportunities. As the subject matter expert in fraud capabilities, this role will focus on fraud within specific payment channels for Ally Bank and Ally Invest such as account takeover (ATO), scams and payments. Your top priorities will be helping to ensure the business can effectively mitigate fraud risk in an ever-changing and evolving payments environment and driving the fraud strategic initiatives to prevent fraud losses. Your process should include enhancing customer experience, mitigation and ownership of fraud losses related to ATO, Scam, and payment channels, and working with key stakeholders.

This is an in office role with Hybrid schedule. Ally work locations are Lewisville TX, Jacksonville FL, Fort Washington PA, Charlotte NC

The Work Itself

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships internally and externally, including vendors, stakeholders and partners
  • Monitoring strategies to prevent, detect and minimize fraud losses with a focus on proactive controls
  • Identifying risk trends through deep understanding of fraud trends and drivers of loss in the payment space
  • Iteratively delivering solutions to develop towards target state.
  • Leveraging existing technology to improve ACH, Zelle and Wire payment types through balancing risk and customer experience
  • Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the ATO and scam strategy and implement improvements based on data-driven insights
  • Conducting market research to stay ahead of fraud trends and vendor offerings
  • Actively participate in industry forums
  • Collaborating with vendors to deploy effective fraud control changes
  • Development of procedures, training and communications for the Fraud Operations team as needed related to strategy driven initiatives
  • Collaborating on business cases and presenting recommendations to senior leaders for funding or approval
  • Driving business requirements for comprehensive delivery of strategic initiatives related to ATO, scams & payments
 

The Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years of fraud retail banking, fraud brokerage, and/or other product related experience required
  • 3+ years of a proven history of driving fraud strategy, delivering fraud technology, and providing strategy solutions
  • Sophisticated knowledge of banking regulations, fraud taxonomy, payment methods, risks and fraud trends, and the Zelle network including related rules and regulation
  • Industry awareness of emerging fraud scams and regulation changes/liability related to scam activity
  • Solid understanding of authentication controls and vendors
  • High level of critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an executive presence
  • Experience with deriving actionable insights from data
  • AAP or APRP preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, statistics, or other related business related concentration required
  • Masters degree in a business or analytics concentration in lieu of one year of experience

Base Pay Range: $90000 - $150000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
