The Opportunity

This position will assist the Chief Diversity Officer in developing and implementing Ally's diversity and inclusion framework. In partnership with stakeholders across the organization, this position will develop and implement all HR related diversity and inclusion initiatives and ensure those activities are coordinated and aligned with the overall strategy.


Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer, the ideal candidate will have deep experience working on a variety of diversity initiatives, understanding of best practices, excellent project management, communication and analytical skills, demonstrated ability to successfully influence and collaborate cross functionally and execute effectively to ensure HR D&I objectives are met. You must align diversity and inclusion solutions to business requirements using diversity and inclusion theories and accepted design processes. You will be responsible for project management methodologies to ensure project completion according to requirements, managing timelines, team logistics and scheduling as necessary.

The Work Itself

  • Provide support and structure to Ally's diversity framework and execute on key priorities.
  • Actively engage internal stakeholders to ensure all D&I strategies and activities complement one another
  • Evaluate and analyze data and information to consult with HR Business Partners on diversity and inclusion issues impacting the organization.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team on diversity recruitment needs and priorities for each business.
  • Evaluate and analyze data and information from HR reports to ensures data integrity, provides analysis for key metrics, and proactively identifies potential issues.
  • Use logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, see hidden problems and look beyond the obvious
  • Understand and represent the diversity and inclusion perspective of our customers, community and workforce.
  • Identify change management opportunities by assessing the organizational climate through associate feedback
  • Benchmark the effectiveness of Ally's efforts and ensure best practices are implemented by staying informed of leading D&I trends and issues.
  • Develop and implement diversity & inclusion programs with deliberate focus on underrepresented populations
  • Identification of the intersections between people practices and their impacts on building a more inclusive work culture
  • Deep understanding of all areas that impact successful execution of diversity and inclusion programing (hiring, mobility, retention policies, practices, and engagement,)

The Skills You Bring

  • 7+ years in Diversity and Inclusion, HR or related areas of focus.
  • Ability to use judgment, creativity and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.
  • Strong communication skills: listening, verbal and written.
  • Adept at working with management/key partners to influence/facilitate change, implement strategy and accomplish objectives
  • Makes sound recommendations and decisions
  • Builds collaborative client partnerships
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of management
  • Develops and implements solutions that incorporate a broad integrated perspective
  • Communicates and focuses on strategic priorities
  • Leverages expert knowledge for business impact
  • Design, implement, and align center led strategy with business objectives
