Ally and Your Career

Ally Financial only succeeds when its people do - and that’s more than some cliché people put on job postings. We live this stuff! We see our people as, well, people - with interests, families, friends, dreams, and causes that are all important to them. Our focus is on the health and safety of our teammates as well as work-life balance and diversity and inclusion. From generous benefits to a variety of employee resource groups, we strive to build paths that encourage employees to stretch themselves professionally. We want to help you grow, develop, and learn new things. You’re constantly evolving, so shouldn’t your opportunities be, too?

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

The Opportunity

The Independent Risk Management (IRM) function for Liquidity Risk (Liquidity Risk IRM) is a team within Market and Liquidity Risk Management (MLRM) which is tasked with performing the independent review and challenge of key liquidity risk management processes for Ally Financial Inc. (AFI), and its direct and indirect subsidiaries (collectively, Ally).

Liquidity Risk IRM accomplishes this by providing oversight and effective challenge to Business Lines (BLs) responsible for managing the liquidity risk arising from Ally products, services, funding programs and other activities. The Liquidity Risk IRM Senior Analyst will be responsible for preparing analysis and reports in support of the continuous monitoring and testing and monitoring activities of the team. The individual will also contribute to various projects and initiatives of the team.

The individual will interact with various BLs involved in the management of liquidity risk (including Corporate Treasury, Regulatory Reporting and Deposits) as well as other IRM teams (including Enterprise Risk Management, Model Risk Management and Operational Risk).

At this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

The Work Itself

  • Perform recurring / ad hoc analysis as required, including: • Evaluating adequacy of risk limit thresholds by performing peer analysis, performing historical analysis on metrics, assessing volatility of forecasts, etc. • Monitoring various types of concentration risk (funding source, maturities, etc.).
  • Engage with BLs to understand their processes, worksheets and controls; work effectively with individuals at all levels while demonstrating independence necessary to fulfill review and challenge responsibilities.
  • Produce and deliver presentations to management and regulators as appropriate.
