Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

The Senior Analyst – CRA Loan Portfolio Management will provide support to the ongoing management and oversight of the CRA portfolio in collaboration with the Manager – CRA Loan Portfolio Management role.  The Senior Analyst will be primarily responsible for the satisfactory completion of all loan monitoring and servicing functions, while also providing support in the on-boarding process of new loans. This role includes a high level of client interaction, generating relevant reports, and adhering to policy and regulatory guidelines.  The ideal candidate will combine an adequate level of financial analysis skills with, at minimum, moderate knowledge of commercial credit or related portfolio management experience.

The Work Itself

  • Support the Manager – CRA Loan Portfolio Management role in the ongoing administration of a diverse portfolio of loans to borrowers, including financial intermediaries, focused on affordable housing, economic development, community services, and neighborhood revitalization, ensuring compliance with reporting, funding, and risk rating requirements in accordance with the bank’s CRA Procedures
  • Create and maintain individual monitoring checklists for all loans and ensure the satisfactory and timely receipt of all reporting requirements as well as compliance with required covenants, including the tracking/monitoring of various insurance requirements
  • Ensure the proper on-boarding of new loans into CRA’s loan servicing platform (LoanIQ), which includes the review and understanding of key terms included in a loan agreement
  • Periodic review (at least monthly, but may be more frequent) of various loan portfolio reports relating to late payments/delinquent loans, upcoming maturities, loan monitoring status, etc.Review various reports with CRA senior management and follow-up as appropriate
  • Work with internal loan servicing partners to ensure proper handling of all payment processing functions, including incoming payments and pay-offs; maintain a loan-payoff log to ensure the bank’s security interest in any collateral is released timely and in accordance with CRA Procedures
  • In collaboration with the Manager – CRA Loan Portfolio Management, ensure the Loan Watchlist report is maintained and reviewed by CRA Senior Management monthly
  • Process loan advances for a diverse portfolio of loans that include, but are not limited to, construction loans, lines of credit, term loans, and loan pools with various structures that often include specific funding conditions/procedures
  • Maintain applicable AML/OFAC screening logs and work with internal partners to ensure the satisfactory and timely initial and ongoing screening of CRA borrowers
  • Complete pre-closing Quality Control (“QC”) Checklist reviews for all CRA loans and investments; work with underwriters to ensure all QC Checklist conditions are met prior to closing
  • Participate in Ally Bank’s community outreach programs, including volunteer and leadership opportunities with non-profit organizations, to contribute to the Bank’s Community Development service hour requirements
  • Prepare materials related to internal meetings, CRA activities, etc.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned, in support of the bank’s CRA program and portfolio management activities

The Skills You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience
  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related major or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of banking, lending/credit, portfolio management, or combined experience
  • Adequate understanding of basic financial analysis, portfolio management and risk assessment
  • Experience with supporting or managing CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) loan portfolios or community development finance.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through
  • Thorough analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively on project teams
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other MS Office software
  • SharePoint / MS Teams experience preferred; knowledge of LoanIQ a plus
  • Strong sense of community and desire to be part of a giving-back culture

Base Pay Range: $70000 - $120000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
