The Opportunity
The Work Itself
- Support Ally’s unsecured and secured funding programs, including corporate debt / capital issuances, cash securitizations, credit linked notes.
- Monitor capital markets activity, funding levels, investor sentiment, peer issuance, and rating agency developments to help inform funding and capital decisions.
- Partner with investment banks, rating agencies, investors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to support execution and relationship management.
- Maintain and improve daily market color commentary, primary/secondary metric dashboards, models, and reporting tools related to funding, capital, liquidity, and market activity.
- Support share buyback execution, and capital related ad hoc analysis for senior management.
- Exposure to a dynamic, markets-facing work environment with cross-collaboration across internal teams and external partners.
- Support strategic financing initiatives and special projects across Treasury and the broader CFO organization.
- Synthesize market data and produce quality materials for senior management, internal committees, rating agencies, and external partners meetings.
- Assist in fixed income investor efforts across material production and preparation.
- Identify opportunities to use automation and AI-enabled tools to improve team efficiency.
The Skills You Bring
- 3+ years of experience
- High school Diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, corporate treasury, financial planning and analysis, fixed income, or a related finance role.
- Prior capital markets experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize market data, financial statements, transaction information, and market developments.
- Excellent attention to detail and ownership mindset.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, markets-driven environment where business priorities can shift quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear, polished materials for senior audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Bloomberg is a plus.
- Interest in bank balance sheets, funding strategy, capital markets, fixed income investors, rating agencies, and regulatory capital.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn the “why” behind business, market, and strategic decisions.
