The Opportunity
The Associate Analyst is responsible for supporting our insurance pricing and/or reserving framework at Ally Insurance. Under the guidance of leadership, the Associate Analyst will be expected to work as part of a broader team in order to complete projects. This includes brainstorming, accurately executing advanced analytics, and effectively communicating results to Management and Senior Leadership, as well as robust reporting processes that they will take a leading role in supporting, developing and maintaining. The Associate Analyst will be responsible for communicating and working collaboratively across multiple departments throughout the organization. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated analytical, communication, and technical skills. Programming skills a must. SAS/SQL/R preferred. Detroit office with a hybrid work schedule.
The Work Itself
- Support a robust pricing and/or reserving framework for insurance business, including reporting, standard actuarial techniques, and modeling
- Develop indications and communicate them to Actuarial Management
- Work collaboratively as a part of the broader Pricing and/or Reserving process
- Support and enhance business analytics to Senior Leadership
- Foster innovation within the team and across the broader organization
- Development in an actuarial and business capacity and according to Ally vision and mission statement
The Skills You Bring
- Passed 1 or more Casualty Actuarial Society exam(s) and dedication to attaining actuarial credentials
- Strong written and oral communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and to easily adjust priorities as necessary and appropriate
- High level of problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Strong work ethic
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, economics, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft product suite
- Programming skills in SQL/SAS/R/Python a plus
- Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
