The Opportunity

Ally’s finance organization is seeking an Analyst of Learning and Development to support the creation and execution of a comprehensive learning and development practice that will enable skills and competencies necessarily for the future of the CFO Group. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Development for the CFO group, this role will have the opportunity to think like an entrepreneur and support the development of the L&D practice across all areas of Ally’s Finance organization, ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of the organization’s transformation efforts, as well as supporting the growth of the program to meet the changing needs of the workforce across communities of practice within the CFO Group.


The Work Itself

  • Support the development and implementation of a “best-in-class” learning and development practice for Ally’s CFO Group, aligning with Finance Transformation requirements as well as ongoing functional needs and competencies
  • Assist with the creation of curated learning paths and related content for Finance Transformation and shared CFO Group competencies
  • Coordinate the execution and delivery of learning and development opportunities across a variety of methods and mediums including classroom instruction, e-learning, virtual training, labs, etc.
  • Create and maintain an up-to-date course catalog aligned with relevant learning paths and collaborate with partners from across the organization to integrate with the enterprise LMS/LXP solution
  • Support the development, curation, enhancement and maintenance of training and support materials including job aids, course outlines and descriptions, etc.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing metrics, KPIs and reporting to measure and evaluate the impact and success of the L&D practice while using that data as well as participant feedback to make recommendations to drive the continued enhancement of the program
  • Consult with stakeholders across all areas of the CFO Group to assess learning and development needs and make recommendations on opportunities to address gaps
  • Manage logistical requirements of the L&D practice, including course scheduling, roster management, CPE certification and verification, attendance records, etc.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of a CFO Group learning & development standard, as well as policies and procedures as applicable, that align with enterprise expectations
  • Assist in driving engagement in the L&D program and cultivating a culture of continuous learning as a means of ongoing career development
  • Support partnerships with third-party training providers as appropriate to evaluate and offer a full range of learning opportunities and programs
  • Identify learning and development collaboration opportunities across functional partners and integrate them with the CFO Group program

The Skills You Bring

  • The ideal candidate will have a background in and passion for learning & development as a critical component of change management and continued career growth, as well as experience within financial services and a working knowledge of the finance organization, in addition 

    to, Bachelor's degree or certification in a relevant field
  • Minimum 1+ years of Learning & Development experience in training, talent development or related role within the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of instructional design and the end-to-end learning process including the evaluation and measurements of success
  • Experience managing data, developing related reporting and analysis, and driving actionable insights
  • Working knowledge of managing L&D programs within a Learning Management System (LMS) and/or a Learning Experience Platform (LXP) preferred
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term productive relationships through effective communication, both written and verbal, across a broad set of stakeholders, and a commitment to excellence through collaboration
  • Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment, responding to change quickly with flexibility and agility while successfully working through organizational complexity and ambiguity
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite required, particularly PowerPoint and Excel; experience with finance and reporting tools (i.e., Power BI, SAP, OneStream, etc.) a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with the appropriate sense of urgency
  • Results driven and detail oriented with a desire to take initiative
