The Opportunity
This role is on a hybrid schedule in our Detroit office, a few days in office with some remote days.
The Operational Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Analyst II role will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of the Enterprise Operational Risk Management Program. The candidate will assist with review & challenge of assessments, support RCSA communications to coordinators and stakeholders, and ensure adherence to the RCSA Program Standard and Procedures. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills and be capable of collaborating with Independent Risk Management and Business Lines and Support Functions to ensure sound risk management practices.
The Work Itself
- Support the execution of RCSA processes and routines to drive ongoing oversight and enforcement of standards across the enterprises to enable a strong risk management culture.
- Collaborate and perform diligent follow up with Business Lines and Independent Risk Management teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of RCSA assessments, including the escalation of exceptions to their manager.
- Provide a working knowledge of the RCSA Program initiatives and perform effective review & challenge to ensure adherence with policies and standards.
- Support centralization of Operational Risk Management reporting.
- Assist with program adherence initiatives to ensure consistency of Operational Risk Management practices and adherence to policy and standard requirements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and escalate to their manager.
- Support manager through Operational Risk Program and Independent Risk Management Team special projects that provide a cohesive and thorough approach to RCSA execution.
The Skills You Bring
- 1+ years relevant experience in the financial services industry or related field.
- BA/BS from an accredited university preferred (Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance major is preferred).
- Relevant experience in financial services, e.g. Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Risk, Testing & Monitoring, or SOX, Internal Audit, Third Party Risk Management .
- Ability to work in teams, adapt to change, troubleshoot, analyze risk and controls and determine accuracy are critical skills.
- The ideal candidate will possess initiative, flexibility in daily responsibilities and working hours, strong communication and willingness to adapt to meet the needs of the risk organization.
- Working knowledge of risk management components (e.g., policy/procedures, governance, reporting, risk control self-assessments, issue management, etc.) in a regulated environment.
- Technical expertise in MS Office required; experience with Archer preferred.
- Must be self-motivated, willing to take on initiative, and capable of working independently.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with multiple levels of management.
- Strong analytical, documentation, project management and organization skills including attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, handle competing priorities and follow through on commitments.
